Behind Ponne is danish ceramicist and product designer
Morten Dyrsø. That's me.
"Ceramicist" is basically a fancy way to tell you that I shape things out of dirt. That this material offers the ability to make delicate, rough, porous or hardy objects never ceases to amaze me. It's these inherent properties in the clay I enjoy to discover and exploit in both aesthetics and function.
When working in ceramics, it's important for me to challenge the "trend" and yet embracing both the materials historical legacy and contemporary currents. I believe this is the most effective way to explore both experimental and focused ideas - that take both present and future seriously.
I graduated from The Royal Academy in Copenhagen in 2015, and have since had the pleasure of working with many of my own heroes of inspiration, within both ceramics and industrial design. Some of these honorable mentions include Maria Berntsen, Peter Brandes, Pia Lund, Flemming Tvede Hansen, Bente Skjøttgaard, Mathias Kok, Hilda Nilsson and Anders Arhoj.
